Albert E. "Butch" Grossman II passed away on Saturday, Aug. 5, in Elk Grove, California.
He was in Hospice care as a result of contracting mesothelioma.
He was born in New Castle on July 17, 1941, to Albert and Dolores Cochran Grossman.
He graduated from New Castle High School in 1959.
He entered the Navy after high school graduation and served for 20 years, including time in Vietnam. He retired as Chief Petty Officer.
He married the former Kay Allen of California. They had two children, Melissa Grossman and Daniel (Marlow) Grossman.
Survivors, in addition to his wife and children, are grandchildren, Erin, Natalie and Ian; his siblings, Mary (Evan) Thomas of Butler, Rebecca Loucks of Harrisville, Pennsylvania, Jane (Jack) Rogan of New Castle and Phillip (Kim) of South Carolina; an aunt, Rosemary Kauffman; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
