Albert O. LaTona
December 09, 1926 - August 07, 2018
Born on Dec. 9, 1926, in West Pittsburg, he was a son of the late Joseph and Antoinette Tuminella LaTona.
On Sept. 6, 1944, he married his beloved wife, the former Nellie M. Cwynar, and the two of them spent 61 years together until she preceded him in death on Oct. 9, 2005.
Known as a very hard worker, Albert worked as a carpenter with the Pittsburgh Carpentry Union for George Stevens Construction, had owned LaTona Builders and retired from Mahoning Builders Inc.
He served his country as a member of the Navy during World War II.
Albert was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Parish.
Albert is survived by his son, Joseph A. LaTona and wife, Marge of New Castle; sister, Rose Cionni of West Pittsburg; grandson, Joseph B. LaTona; and great-grandchildren, Michael and Jacob.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Jim and Joseph Butera; and sister, Esther Tonsetic.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Church, officiated by the Rev. Zachary Galiyas.
Entombment will take place in Parkside Mausoleum.
