Alexander's Story

Alexander B. Warren III, 88, of New Castle passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017, at his residence.
Born Oct. 4, 1928, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Alexander B. Warren Jr. and Hilda Krause Warren.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joan L. Stuart Warren, whom he married Dec. 1, 1951.
Before attending Edinboro University, Alexander was a graduate of Avonworth High School in 1946.
Prior to his retirement as a supervisor in the bookkeeping department with Mellon Bank, Mr. Warren was employed in sales with Westinghouse and Dravo-Doyle.
He was a member of Avalon Lodge 657 and the Pittsburgh Commandry of the Knights Templer.
Alexander served as an elder at Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Jeffrey (Betsy) Warren of Franklin Park, Pennsylvania, James (Lauren) Warren of Palm Harbor, Florida, and John Warren of Valencia, Pennsylvania; a brother, William (Connie) Warren of Meadville; a sister, Alice (Raymond) Reagle of St. Petersburg, Florida; five grandchildren, Jessica, Emily, Alexander IV and William Warren, and Kelsey Warren-Blue; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Christy; and three brothers, Donald, Edgar and George Warren.
There will be no calling hours.
A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 7, at Clen-Moore Presbyterian Church in New Castle with Steve Plyler officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either Three Rivers Hospice, the Shriners Hospital in Erie or St. Jude Hospital.
