Benardino M. "Bennie" "Tubby" Camerot, 89, of West Pittsburg passed away Wednesday, Dec. 12, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born on May 8, 1928, in West Pittsburg, he was a son of Joseph and Philomena Carangi Camerot.
He married Mary Jane Drake Camerot on June 6, 1953, who survives at home.
He graduated from New Castle High School in 1946.
Benardino served in the Army during the Korean War conflict.
Benardino was a member of the Highland Presbyterian Church, where he served as an Elder.
He was first employed by Television Parts Company in New Castle as a store manager. He later worked for Northminster Presbyterian Church and Highland Presbyterian Church as a custodian and performing maintenance.
He was a zoning officer and an auditor for Taylor Township.
Benardino was an avid football and baseball fan. He enjoyed musical theater and reading.
Along with his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Cheryl (Mike) Dean of Avon, Ohio; two brothers, Jack Camerot of New Castle and Joseph Camerot of West Pittsburg; two sisters, Carmella Bokros of Struthers, Ohio, and Mariann Jones of West Pittsburg; a granddaughter, Janalyn (Patrick) Ayers of Akron, Ohio; and a great-granddaughter, Melodee Ayers of Akron, Ohio.
Bernardino was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Angeline Govojdean.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Kinney of Highland Presbyterian Church officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
