Betty J. Hudak

September 26, 1925 - January 08, 2019

Betty J. Hudak Betty J. Hudak, 93, of New Castle passed away peacefully the evening of Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2019, at Avalon Place.
Born on Sept. 26, 1925, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth Parks.
On Oct. 22, 1946, she married her beloved husband, Joe Hudak Sr., and he preceded her in death on Feb. 21, 1992.
Betty had worked as a waitress for Bailey's, the Village Inn and later as a manager for the diner at Kresge's Department Store. She and her husband also worked for the family business, JJ's General Store in Shenango Township.
Betty was a devoted member of First United Brethren Church.
If there was one thing Betty taught her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, it was to serve others, never resting if there was still something to be done for someone else.
Those who loved her will miss her dearly, but Betty Hudak left an indelible imprint on this world through her family and by the way she served her Savior, Jesus Christ.
Betty is survived by her children, Barbara Clingensmith and her husband, John, of New Castle and Joe Hudak Jr. of Rock Hill, South Carolina; five grandchildren, Allyson Calvert and her husband, Tom, Amy Mongiovi and her husband, Dave, Logan Hudak, Preston Hudak and Callie Hudak; and four great-grandchildren, Avery Calvert, Isabel Calvert, Tyler Mongiovi and Kayla Mongiovi.
In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by three sisters, Gladys Hall, Juanita White and Martha Bowie.
Visitation will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Friday at First United Brethren Church, 1900 Eastbrook Road, New Castle.
A service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at the church. Pastor Marc Stephenson will officiate.
Interment will be in Harmony Baptist Cemetery.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.

Barbara, John and family. When I think of Betty, I think of Joy. She was soo caring about people also. When my mom passed away at 91, I was grateful she was with us that long. God bless you all.

I am a first cousin to Betty. Her mother was my father's (Mile Stewart) sister. I knew Betty when we were kids; she was six years older than I. As adults our paths went different ways and our paths have only crossed a few times. I remember Betty as vivacious and fun and energetic. My sympathies to the family. We are kin although we do not now each other. My husband and I live in Florida
