Betty Rozzi, 90, of New Castle passed away the morning of Thursday, Oct. 5, 2017, at her daughter's residence.
Born Jan. 22, 1927, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Bettina Gaspare Stefano.
On April 19, 1947, she married her beloved husband, Samuel P. Rozzi, and the two of them spent 48 wonderful years together until he preceded her in death on Dec. 20, 1995.
Betty was a member of St. Vitus Church.
She enjoyed completing crossword puzzles.
Betty will always be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who cherished cooking and baking for Sunday dinners and being surrounded by her beloved family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Betty is survived by her children, Cheryl Kimmel and husband, Tracy, Gloria Stumpf, Luann Haybarger and husband, Richard, and Patrice Knapp and husband, Gary, all of New Castle; grandchildren, Jamal Soubra, Jenna Mozzocio, Cortny Germanski, Matthew Kimmel, Richard Haybarger, Eric Haybarger, Tara Knapp and Tiffany Knapp; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Clyde, Michael, Tullio, Arthur and Victor Stefano; sister, Frances Doerr; and son-in-law, James Stumpf.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 10 a.m. Monday to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. at St. Vitus Church, officiated by the Rev. Frank Almade.
Interment will take place in St. Vitus Cemetery.
