Betty L. Watters, 92, of New Castle passed away the morning of Nov. 18, 2017, at Rhodes Estates.
Born Jan. 28, 1925, in New Castle, she was the daughter of John Nathan Knight and Verna Fairbanks Knight.
She was preceded in death by her husband, George E. Watters Jr., whom she married Feb. 1, 1943.
A graduate of New Castle High School, Betty was a homemaker and attended Independent Methodist Church.
She enjoyed bowling and swimming, attending concerts and making several trips to Nashville. For 20 years, Betty and her husband spent summers at their cabin in Franklin, Pa.
She is survived by one daughter, Sandra (Duane) Meanor of North Point, Fla.; two sons, George E. (Carole) Watters III of New Castle and John Watters of North New Portland, Maine; one brother, John Knight of Sharon, Pa.; three sisters, Marjorie Buchanan of New Castle, Grace Savioli of Sharon and Diana Brown of Pulaski; and two grandchildren, Ryan Meanor and Maxwell Watters.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Maude Daugherty; one brother, Joe Knight; and one grandchild, Robb Meanor.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road.
A funeral service will take place on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev. Frederick Gilbert officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
