Bonnie Renee Doyle, 65 of Grove City, Pa., passed away at the Grove City Medical Center on Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2017, at 12:30 a.m. following a short illness.
She was born in Ellwood City, Pa., on March 31, 1952, to Kenneth Dale Wimer and Beverly Rose Alborn Wimer.
She married William J. Doyle on Feb. 12, 1993.
Bonnie graduated from Grove City High School in 1970 and Slippery Rock University in 1974. She shortly thereafter earned her Masters' Degree in Reading from the University of Pittsburgh.
Bonnie's teaching career spanned various grade levels over 30 years. She taught at North Allegheny, Baltimore, Houston and White Plains, N.Y., and she retired from the Slippery Rock Area Schools in 2008.
She enjoyed boating, water skiing, traveling, listening to music, attending concerts and, most importantly, spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Bill at home; two daughters, Michelle Jordan of Pittsburgh and Nicole Fleming of Grove City; son, Zachary Doyle of St. Simons Island, Ga.; mother, Beverly R. Wimer of Grove City; brother, Derran K. Wimer of Hudson, Ohio, and their spouses; six grandchildren; nieces; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and infant daughter, Lia Marie Vislay.
Funeral services will be at Center Presbyterian Church, 211 Center St., Slippery Rock, on Saturday, Aug. 5, 2017, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Jeff Hurst, pastor of the Leesburg ECO Presbyterian Church, presiding.
Family will receive friends at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, on Friday, Aug. 4, from 3 until 8 p.m.
Interment will be in Eastbrook Cemetery, Lawrence County, Pa.
