Brenda Joyce Plunkard, 75, of 1539 Old Butler Road, New Castle, passed away the evening of Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, with her family by her side.
Brenda was born April 4, 1942, in New Castle. She was a daughter of the late William J. and Violet M. Vaughn Henle.
Brenda was married to James K. Plunkard. He survives at home. They were married for 54 years.
Mrs. Plunkard was Roman Catholic and attended St. Joseph the Worker Parish.
Brenda was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1960.
Mrs. Plunkard will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She also worked outside the home as a waitress at the former Troggio's Restaurant.
Brenda enjoyed all types of music and loved to dance. She was also a member of the Rapid Tappets Car Club. Spending time with her family and friends is what made her the happiest.
In addition to her husband James, she is survived by three children, Jeffery T. (Amy) Plunkard of New Castle, Stacy L. (Alfred) DeCarbo of New Castle and Thomas K. (Mary Jo) Plunkard of Monaca; and four grandchildren, Ryan W. Plunkard, Alayna N. DeCarbo, Victoria R. Plunkard and Nicholas J. Plunkard.
Mrs. Plunkard was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Karen E. Krueger.
Calling hours will be held from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Noga Funeral Home Inc.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Monday for St. Joseph the Worker Parish, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. The Rev. Zachary Galiyas of St. Joseph the Worker Parish will officiate.
Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
