Bruce E. Pickel, 72, of Neshannock Township passed away the afternoon of Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2017, at UPMC Mercy Hospital.
Born on Sept. 15, 1945, in New Castle, he was a son of the late Robert R. and Harriet S. Wolfe Pickel.
Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 45 years, the former Lauren Cucitrone, whom he married on May 28, 1972.
Bruce had worked for H. Wolfe Iron and Metal with his family. For the last 50 years, he has owned and operated Gardner Steel Corp.
Bruce was a member of the Temple Hadar Israel and its men's club. In earlier years, he coached Little League Baseball and Football for his sons' teams. A fan of many sports, Bruce was an avid golfer and loved watching the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather, who cherished his time spent with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Bruce is survived by his children, Sam Pickel and wife, Neesa, of Poland, Ohio, Jason Pickel and wife, Laney, of New Castle, and Robert Pickel of Austintown, Ohio; sister, Sybil Epstein and husband, Art, of New Castle; and grandchildren, Samantha Rose and Gino Aldo.
There are no calling hours.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Temple Israel Memorial Park, conducted by Rabbi Muller.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Road.
