Carmen Rozzi, 57, of New Castle passed away the morning of Monday, July 24, 2017, at Clen Moore Place.
Born on Dec. 30, 1959, in New Castle, he was a son of Charlotte Venditto Rozzi and the late Ben Rozzi Sr.
Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 26 years, the former Mary Kay Lombardo, whom he married on May 25, 1991.
Carmen retired from the Army Corps of Engineers, where he was chief of plan formulation/economics section. During his 25-year federal career, he also worked for the U.S. Office of Personnel Management.
He served on the New Castle Planning Commission and was a board member of New Castle Area Transit Authority. He represented Lawrence County on the Southwestern Pennsylvania Planning Commission.
Carmen was a member of Mary, Mother of Hope, St. Mary Parish.
He enjoyed reading political history books and was an avid animal lover.
In addition to his wife and mother, Carmen is survived by his brothers, Ben Rozzi and wife, Patricia, and John Rozzi and wife, Kathleen, all of New Castle; nieces, Melanie Rozzi, Cassandra Rozzi, Natalie Beaver and husband, Chris, Stefanie Leonard and husband, Brian, and Lauren DeRiggi and husband, Mark; nephew, Edward Lombardo and wife, Michelle; and five great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Frank Rozzi.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Thursday to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, officiated by the Rev. William Siple.
Entombment will take place in Resurrection Mausoleum.
