Carol A. Brightshue Carol A. Brightshue, age 72, of New Castle, passed away the morning of Feb. 8, 2019, at Quality of Life Services - New Castle. Born on Jan. 3, 1947, in New Castle, she was the daughter of George and Elizabeth (Thompson) Woods. Mrs. Brightshue married Vernon L. Brightshue Jr. on May 18, 1967, who survives.
Carol was a 1965 graduate of New Castle High School. She worked at K-Mart and then went on to work for Huntington Bank, retiring after 25 years of service. Carol enjoyed many things in life. She loved to travel, play tennis, golf and most of all enjoyed trips to see the Grand Canyon. Carol cherished spending time with her family.
Along with her husband, Vernon, Carol is survived by two sons, Jeffery W. Brightshue of Pittsburgh and Michael J. (Dawn) Brightshue of New Castle; four grandchildren, Stevie, Corin, Mackenzie and Emily; and one great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 12 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle. A service will take place immediately after visitation at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Ronald Mounts of Church of God, officiating.

Butch and family,
Carol was only in my life a few years but she made such an impact on me. She was so loving, kind and made me a part of her family for the short time I lived in New Castle. I have nothing but fond memories or her. I have so much love for her and the family
