Carole Elizabeth Lang
Born July 22, 1940, in Youngstown Ohio, she was a daughter of James and Georgia (Lookabaugh) Eckman.
She was preceded in death on Aug. 4, 2013, by her husband of 47 years, Georg Lang.
Carole was a homemaker and active member of the ladies' branch of the Eintracht Singing Society.
She was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church in New Castle. In recent years, she became a member of Calvary Lutheran Church in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, where she was involved with the greeting card ministry, VBS, hospitality committee and attended Ladies Bible Study.
She also volunteered at the Sonshine Kitchen in McKeesport and enjoyed spending time with friends and family, especially the grandkids.
Carole is survived by her daughter, Kristine (Timothy) Birus of Irwin, Pennsylvania, her son, Georg M. (Kimberly) Lang of Lancaster, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Sam and Maggie Birus, and Matthew, Abbie and Lukas Lang. She is also survived by three brothers and two sisters, William Eckman of Windham, Ohio, Gloria Herr of Avon Lake, Ohio, Roberta Bartlett of Moneta, Virginia, David Eckman of Wesson, Mississippi, and Johnathan Eckman of Moneta, Virginia.
A brother, James Eckman, and a sister, Judy Strohm, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral service will take place immediately following the visitation at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with Pastor David Weeks of Calvary Lutheran Church officiating.
Burial will be in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
