Clara Ruth's Story
Clara Ruth Dudash, 89, of Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County, passed away at her residence on Thursday, Nov. 30, 2017.
She was born in Portersville, Butler County, on June 10, 1928, to John James Jones and Estella Olive Houk Jones.
She married Michael Dudash on April 10, 1949, and he preceded her in death in March 1991.
Ruth was a member of Plain Grove Presbyterian Church.
She worked at Pollock's Store in Plain Grove beginning in the early 1970s through the 1980s.
She enjoyed playing bingo, assisting the Ladies Auxiliary at the Scott Township Volunteer Fire Department, served on a committee to conduct election voting in Plain Grove; singing at Challenges in New Castle and line dancing.
Survivors include two sons, David E. Dudash (Christine) of Apollo, Pennsylvania, and Thomas M. Dudash of Harlansburg; a sister, Alice Mae Dudash of Portersville; a brother, Ralph Alfred Jones of New Castle; a granddaughter, Jennifer L. Dudash; a great-grandson, Jenson Dudash; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Pamela Olive Dudash; three brothers, Carl, Lawrence and John Jones; and three sisters, Helen Lee, Evelyn Nelson and Edna Penjamin.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Stanley Keehlwetter presiding.
Interment will be in North Plain Grove Cemetery.
