Cora B. Echols


Cora B. Echols, formerly of New Castle, passed away peacefully on Jan. 30, 2019, at her residence in Washington, Pa.
She was born on April 5,1932, in Elkton, Ky. She was the daughter of the late Cleo and Equila Bell Russell Kenner.
On June 11, 1965, she married her beloved husband, Jeremiah Echols, who preceded her in death on Oct. 24,1994.
Cora had worked as a CNA for The Grove at New Castle. She was a member of Eastern Star Golden Rule Chapter. She was affiliated with St. Paul Baptist Church, where she supported her husband and was a member of the adult choir.
She moved to Evansville, Ind., after the death of her husband to take care of her mother. She was a member of First Ebenezer Baptist Church in Evansville, Ind. She loved fishing, cooking and gardening. Cora was a loving wife, sister, mother and grandmother. She was very devoted to her family.
Cora is survived by her children, Richard Sebree and his wife Vickie of Fort Worth, Texas, Charlotte Sebree of Pittsburgh, Phillip Sebree of New Castle and Charlotte "Nece" Campbell and her husband Ricky of Washington, Pa.; her sister, Lucile Kenner of Cincinnati; her brother, James Cager of Hopkinsville, Ky.; seven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 15 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one great-great grandson.
Visiting hours will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St., New Castle, Pa. 16101.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Rev. Frank Christian will officiate.
Interment will be at Graceland Cemetery.
