Daniel L. Boughter, 73, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of Sunday, Dec. 24, 2017, at Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 23, 1944, in New Castle. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold R. Boughter; mother, Alice M. Cooper Boughter; and stepmother, Lois Powell Boughter.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 16 years, Ginny Fleo-Boughter, whom he married on June 22, 2001.
After 30 years of working, Daniel retired from his job at an assembly plant for General Motors.
He also served his country as a member of the 82nd Airborne for the Army.
Daniel was an avid audiophile, especially enjoying vinyl records and CDs, and he also enjoyed visiting casinos and was a Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
In addition to his wife, Daniel is survived by his children, Mark A. Boughter and wife, Shirley, Richard A. Boughter and wife, Jennifer, Chris B. Boughter and wife, Blaire, and Heather Campoli and husband, Mark; siblings, Cindy Simpkins, Bob Hanna and Sally Painter; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and stepmother, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Boughter; sisters, Charlotte Boughter and Carol Lenhart; and stepbrothers, William Hanna and John Hanna.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Blessing services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Ralph Esposito. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct military rites Thursday at the funeral home.
Interment will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
