David Ayers, 74, of Neshannock Township passed away the morning of Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born on Jan. 4, 1943, in Pulaski, he was a son of the late Thomas and Mildred Shaffer Ayers.
Surviving at home is his beloved wife of 51 years, the former Karen Puromaki, whom he married on Feb. 12, 1966.
A graduate of New Wilmington High School, David had worked as a foundry engineer for National Steel Castings in Sharon. Following that, he worked as a self-employed painter and wallpaper installer.
David enjoyed being outdoors and watching golf, college football and NASCAR. He also was known for his great cooking.
In addition to his wife, David is survived by his brother, William Ayers of New Castle.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Ayers; and brothers, Thomas and Robert Ayers.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to noon Friday at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.
Services will be conducted at noon Friday at at the funeral home, officiated by the Rev. Dennis Bupp.
