Donald R. Shelenberger, 86, of New Wilmington, Pa., went to be with the Lord at Carriage Manor, New Castle, on Sunday evening, Sunday, Oct. 29, 2017.
Born in New Castle on April 17, 1931, to the late Carl Kenneth and Helen McCreary Shelenberger.
Mr. Shelenberger married the former Judith Ann Hermann.
He graduated from Wilmington High School and served his country in the Air Force during the Korean conflict. He loved music and retired from Wean United of Youngstown, Ohio.
Survivors include his wife Judith of Pulaski; one daughter, Barbara A. (Vince) Arquilla of Canfield, Ohio; one son, Robert Paul Shelenberger and wife Angela of New Castle; one sister, Sylvia Sinkovich of Hermitage; and three grandchildren, Jared, Sarah and Hannah.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan; one son, Donald; one brother, Carl; and three sisters, Jean Barr, Doris Moon and Marilyn Edeburn,
Visitation will be Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2017, from 1 p.m. until the service at 4 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.
Rev. John Grusendorf of the Christian Mission Alliance Church will officiate. Interment will follow at Fair Oaks Cemetery, New Wilmington.
