Dorothy C. Busin


Dorothy C. Busin, 96, formerly of Neshannock Township, passed away the morning of April 12, 2019, at Masternick Memorial Health Care in New Middletown, Ohio.
Born Nov. 2, 1922, in New Castle, she was the daughter of John and Mary (Cetina) Slavich.
She was preceded in death on Aug. 10, 2008, by her husband of 64 years, Thomas J. Busin, whom she married on May 8, 1944.
In earlier years, she was employed with Shenango China until she became a homemaker, taking care of her eight children.
Dorothy had several interests including cooking, knitting and ceramics. Her heart was in raising her children and spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Camillus Church in New Castle.
She is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie (Donald) Pallerino of Naples, Florida, and Carla (Dale) Smith of Bedford, Texas; six sons, Thomas (Rita) Busin of Poland, Ohio, Dr. Gerald Busin of Coweta, Oklahoma, Mark (Carolyn) Busin of Louisville, Kentucky, Michael (Janet) Busin of New Castle, David (Deborah) Busin of Evans City and Brian (LuAnn) Busin of Newport News, Virginia; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by two granddaughters, Lisa Pallerino and Erica Busin, and one grandson, Christopher Diaz.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, April 15, at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle.
A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday for St. Camillus Church, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. The Rev. Father Philip Farrell will be officiating.
Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery.
