Dorothy M. Chabak, 85 of 500 Clarksville Road, Hermitage, formerly of New Castle, passed away the evening of Sunday, June 25, 2017, at Nugent Convalescent Home in Hermitage.
Dorothy was born on May 27, 1932, in New Castle. She was a daughter of the late Joseph and Suzanna Hrobovsky Chabak.
Dorothy was of the Catholic faith. She was a former member of St. Michaels Church.
Dorothy was a graduate of New Castle High School, class of 1950.
Dorothy retired after 30 years of service as a fastener at the former Airway Luggage Co.
Dorothy will be remembered by her family as a loving aunt.
She was very active in her church as a member of the St. Michael's Church Ladies Society.
She is survived by five nieces, Susan Bosley of Greensburg, Pennsylvania, and Diana Tervo, Michelle Davis, Karen Freed and Colleen Aeppli, all of New Castle; and several other nieces and nephews out of town.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Andrew, Joseph and Michael Chabak; four sisters, Mary Gonda, Helen Olach, Anne M. Gorgacz and Susan Gorgas; and a niece, Marilyn Chabak.
Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.
A Blessing Service will be conducted following visitation at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. The Rev. Frank D. Almade, pastor of St. Vitus Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
