Dorothy T. Russick Dorothy T. Russick, 88, formerly of Adams Street, New Castle, passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2018, at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Dorothy was born in Pittson, Pennsylvania, on Sept. 20, 1930, to the late Ambrose and Johanna (Siemiasko) Chodnicki.
Dorothy graduated from Duryea High School in Duryea, Pennsylvania.
Mrs. Russick married Edward S. Russick in 1954, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 3, 2003.
She was a long-time member of St. Joseph the Worker Parish after moving to New Castle in 1960.
Dorothy was a loving homemaker for her husband and children. She enjoyed cooking and sewing for many of the church members. Dorothy was long-standing member of the Mary Martha Guild. She took great joy cooking her Polish dishes for her family on Sundays.
Dorothy cherished her grandchildren, their visits, and playing LCR and bingo with them.
Survivors include her four children, Rosanne Russick, Raymond Russick and Mary (Philip) Richards, all of New Castle, and Edward (Tamara) Russick of Rio Rancho, New Mexico; sister, Sabina Krymowski of Parma, Ohio; and will be terribly missed by her grandchildren, Rick Gay, Joanna (Jason) Cochran, Michael (Nikki) Russick, Matthew Russick, Drew (Kylea) Russick, Stephen Russick, Leah (Stephen) Shipman, Jimmy Dubiel, Philip Richard, and James (Aja) Richards; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Edward, and parents, she was preceded in death by six brothers, Ambrose, Joseph, John, the Rev. Francis, Raymond and Richard Chodnicki; and her sister, Wanda Orloski.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Monday for St. Joseph the Worker Parish, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. The Rev. Victor Molka Pastoral, chaplain of St. Joseph the Worker Parish, will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery.
