Dorothy J. Venasco, 89, formerly of Justice Lane, New Castle, passed away the morning of Jan. 16, 2018, at Shenango Presbyterian Senior Care.
Born Nov. 23, 1928, in New Castle, she was the daughter of the late William Jackamo and Mary Tesone Jackamo.
She was married to the late Joseph J. Venasco on May 10, 1958, and he preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2016.
Dorothy was a New Castle High School graduate and later was a receptionist for Phil Fitts Ford. She was a member of St. Vitus Church. She loved to bake, cook and shop.
The thing that she loved most in her life, was her family. Her family meant everything to her. Dorothy had battled Alzheimer's disease for 14 years but never lost her good nature and her heart-warming smile.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Lynn (Norman) Young of New Wilmington, Pa., and one son, Kevin J. Venasco of Fairfax, Va.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Ruth Grist.
Visitation will be held at the R. Cunningham Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 2429 Wilmington Road, New Castle, Pa. 16105, on Thursday Jan. 18, 2018, from 5 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Friday, Jan. 19, 2018, at 10 a.m. at St. Vitus Church, 910 S. Mercer St., New Castle, Pa. 16101, with Rev. Father William Siple officiating.
Burial will be St. Vitus Cemetery.
