Edison Dean Coryea


Edison Dean "Ed" Coryea of state Route 158, New Wilmington, passed away at Avalon Springs in Mercer on April 14, 2019. He was 68 years old.
Born in New Castle, Pennsylvania, on Dec. 16, 1950, to the late Edison T. and Ethel Thompson Coryea. He was raised by his parents, Robert and Ethel Thompson Cregg.
Ed was a long-distance truck driver throughout his life. He was Presbyterian, and after retirement he enjoyed transporting the Amish. Following high school, he served his county in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era.
Survivors include a daughter, Jennifer R. Coryea, and her friend, Donald Howsare of Sharon; a son, Robert Joseph (Kelly) Coryea of New Wilmington; his former wife, Rose Baumstark Coryea of Transfer; and one sister, Cindy (Gary) Malinowski of New Bedford.
Three grandchildren, Mikaela, Landon and Jonny, and three great-grandchildren, Nevaeh, Miles and Wyatt, complete the family. Ed enjoyed the company of his dog, Bella.
Visitation will be on Wednesday April 17, 2019, from 3 p.m. until the service at 6 p.m. at the Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington, Pa. Pastor Rebecca Rosengarth will officiate.
Interment will be in Neshannock Cemetery.

To such a Wonderful family... I am so sorry to hear the loss. Ed was a Amazing Person... and Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather and a great Friend to many. He will be missed Dearly by many. He always had us laughing! 🙏🏻❤️

Rose, Jennifer, Bobby & all the grandkids & hreat grandkids.....so sorry for your loss. I remember the many times that Michael, Carrie & I spent at your home in Brookfield with all of you guys. Lots of laughs & great memories. Ed was a good guy who could always make us laugh. He'll surely be missed. Our love and condolences to you all.
