Edward 'Ed' Burr

Edward (Ed) Burr, 90, formerly of New Castle, was born Feb. 18, 1929, in New Castle to Metta and Howard Burr. He and his younger brother, Richard, grew up in New Castle.
After high school, Ed joined the Army.
He went on to earn his undergraduate degree from Washington and Jefferson College.
He became a CPA and earned his law degree from the University of Pittsburgh.
In his younger years, Ed was active in local politics, as well as the Masons. Ed was a well-regarded attorney, well into his 80s, until he gave up his practice of law.
He loved all Pittsburgh sports teams - the Steelers, Pirates and, of course, the Penguins.
Ed is survived by his three children, Aimee, Ted and Eric.
He is also survived by his seven amazing grandchildren.
The family will be holding a small, private service graveside in New Castle.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Smith Funeral Home, 310 W. Neshannock Ave., New Wilmington.
