Eileen Iwanejko, 81, of New Castle passed away the afternoon of Aug. 5, 2019, at her residence.
Born on Nov. 14, 1937, in Eagle Lake, Maine, she was a daughter of the late Harold and Exilia Doucette Cyr.
On Sept. 10, 1955, Eileen married her beloved husband, Joseph R. Iwanejko, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 30, 2010.
Eileen was a faithful member of The Jehovah Witness New Castle Congregation. Her life was about serving Jehovah and she was an active member up until the very end.
Eileen enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, and especially going out to eat with her friends.
Eileen is survived by her children, Sherry Goodge and her husband, Keith, of New Castle, Cindy Hoafat and her husband, Armand (Chino), of Juno Beach, Florida, Terry Iwanejko and his wife, Bonnie, of Statesville, North Carolina, and Joseph Iwanejko and his wife, Sandra, of King, North Carolina; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eileen was preceded in death by her brothers, Harold Cyr and Charles Cyr; her sisters, Birdina Jordan, Jean LaFreniere and Elizabeth Cleroux; and her grandson, D.J. Martin.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2019, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness, 2020 Willow Way, New Castle. The service will be conducted by Dave Sickafuse.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 3000 Wilmington Road.

I’m so sorry to hear of your mom’s passing. I know mom talked to her a couple of weeks ago. She was bringing me up to date and said “Aunt Eileen says hello” I enjoyed visiting with her!. May memories help you through this time and may she Rest In Peace. Much love, Jan
