Eleen B. Robinson, 89, of Union Township passed away peacefully at 9:05 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 16, 2017, in UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Mrs. Robinson was born Dec. 2, 1927, in New Castle, a daughter of the late Jack Stewart and Bessie English. She was a lifelong area resident and 1947 graduate of New Castle High School.
A homemaker, Eleen dedicated her life to caring for family, particularly her husband and 14 children.
She attended Second Baptist Church, New Castle. Eleen had a talent for making crafts and decorations, especially ceramics. She also enjoyed gardening and shopping. Most importantly, she loved spending time with family.
Her husband, Odell Robinson, whom she married Nov. 29, 1943, preceded her in death April 11, 2001.
Surviving are five daughters, Selena Burnett, Iris (Larry) McFall, Linda (Carl) Hilton, Eleen "Doll" Wilson, all of New Castle, and Lisa (David) Wells, of Upper Marlboro, Md.; five sons, Odell (Chela) Robinson and Jack (Phyllis) Robinson, all of Alta Loma, Calif., Clint (Florence) Robinson of New Castle, Keith (Lisa) Robinson of Fremont, Calif., and Stacy (Tina) Robinson of New Castle; 23 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Eleen was preceded in death by four sons, Wayne, Cecil, Lester and Bruce Robinson; two sisters, Kathryn English and Audrey Blackwell; and a brother, Ted English.
Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday (9-21-17) in J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle. A homegoing celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Friday (9-22-17) in Second Baptist Church, 537 Bell Ave., New Castle, with Rev. Norman H. Hunt, pastor, officiating.
Entombment will be in Graceland Cemetery.
