Eugene J. Chiarini, 92, of East Lutton Street died Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle.
He was born May 30, 1925, in Mooween, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Tom and Lucy (Conto) Chiarini.
He was married to Margaret J. (Zamberlan) Chiarini on July 6, 1950, and she survives in New Castle.
Mr. Chiarini was a welding inspector at Pullman Standard for 11 years. He also worked in maintenance at St. Joseph Nursing Home for 10 years.
He was an Army veteran of World War II in Europe and the Korean War. He retired from the Army after serving 20 years.
He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a former member of the NRA.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by five children, Gary Chiarini and wife, Ruthann, of New Castle, Denise Scungio of Oregon, Pamela Letera and husband, William, of New Castle, Lori Barlett and husband, Mark, of New Castle, and Lisa Kern and husband, Robert, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a brother, Leonard Chiarini of New Castle; a sister, Betty Walker of Bakersfield, California; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Charini, Edward Chiarini and Thomas Chiarini.
Private services were held at the William F. and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave.
