Felix A. Cardella Jr., 90, of Ruth Street, Shenango Township, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Haven Nursing Home.
He was born in New Castle on Oct. 24, 1927, a son of the late Felix A. Cardella Sr. and Jennie (Tedescko) Cardella.
He was married to Frances (Elorie) Cardella on Dec. 12, 1953, and she survives in New Castle.
After graduation, Felix worked for Oscar Levine Clothing Store, then as a bellhop at the Castleton Hotel. He also was a laborer at Johnson Bronze, a brakeman for P&LE Railroad, and then for 24 years was an electric equipment repairman for Barletto Equipment Company. In 1970 he started his own company, Cardella Appliance Repair, for 45 years.
He was a social member of the Moose, Knights of Columbus and Sons of Italy.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and attending many sports activities of his grandchildren. He was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, collected antiques and enjoyed visiting flea markets.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Felix A. Cardella III and wife, Jacalyn, of Pittsburgh, Vincent N. Cardella and wife, Anna, of New Castle, Gail M. Germanski and husband, David, of New Castle, and Gino J. Cardella and wife, Lori, of New Castle; a sister, Marlene DiThomas of New Castle; 10 grandchildren, Vincent and Christopher Cardella, David, Matt and Leah Germanski, Philip, Paul and Justine Cardella, and Allie and Carlie Cardella; and three great-grandchildren, Austin and Lilliana Cardella, and Tyler Germanski.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Marie Bullano.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at the William F. and Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Ave.
A Blessing service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. The Rev. James Downs will officiate.
Burial will be in St. Vitus Cemetery.
