Former Warren Avenue resident Frances J. (Francie) Macri, 79, currently residing with her daughter in Chippewa Township, passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2018, at Heritage Valley Hospice of Beaver.
Born on Oct. 4, 1938, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Ignazio and Anna Orlando Parente.
On Aug. 10, 1957, she married her beloved husband, Richard (Rack) Macri, and the two of them spent 56 years together until he preceded her in death on May 27, 2014.
Francie was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Church.
Her family was the most important thing to her, and she loved baking and cooking for them.
Francie always will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who cherished having everyone together.
Francie is survived by her children, Ricky Macri and wife, Beth Whiteman Macri, of New Castle, Lisa Currie and husband, Pat, of Chippewa Township and Randy Macri and wife, Luanne Hamilton Macri, of New Castle; brother, Pat Parenti of New Castle; and grandchildren, Justin, Jordan, Tara, Brennan and Amanda.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Sr. and James Parente; and sisters, Victoria and Clara Parente.
Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday to attend a Mass of Christian burial at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph the Worker Church, officiated by the Rev. William Siple.
Interment will take place in Parkside Cemetery.
