Francesca (Frances)'s Story
Francesca "Frances" Bulisco, 74, of New Castle passed away the morning of Saturday, June 10, 2017, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.
Born on Nov. 25, 1942, in Baia e Latina, Italy, Frances was a daughter of the late Carmen and Annina Ginocchi Laurenza.
Surviving at home is her loving and devoted husband of more than 52 years, Cosimo Bulisco Jr., whom she married on July 11, 1964.
Frances was a member of St. Vitus Church.
Born in Italy, Frances came to the United States at the age of 19.
She and her husband were the owners and operators of Cosimo and Frances Bulisco Catering and Restaurant. In her earlier years, she had worked for Ralph's Supermarket and Vitale Fireworks.
Frances enjoyed gardening, knitting, cooking and tending to her birdhouses.
Frances never forgot her Italian heritage, as she enjoyed listening to Italian music and cooking Sunday dinners, surrounded by her family.
Frances was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who cherished the times she spent surrounded by her family, especially her grandchildren. Above all else, Frances's life revolved around her husband, children and grandchildren, who she truly loved and nurtured.
In addition to her husband, Cosimo, Frances is survived by her two children, Thomas Bulisco and his wife, Vicki, and Tammy Casalandra and her husband, Robert Todd, both of New Castle; her brother, Alessandro Laurenza of Schellsburg, Pennsylvania; four grandchildren, Luann Bulisco-Burdick and her husband, Mark, Marco Bulisco and his companion, Angela Masters, Nina Casalandra and Ella Casalandra; and her one great-grandchild, Cosimo Burdick.
She was preceded in death by her parents; five brothers, Luca, Marco, Tomasso, Giovanni and Antonio Laurenza; her sister and brother-in-law, Maria and Pasquale Pascarella; and her beloved companion and pet dog, Cassie.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday for St. Vitus Church where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m., officiated by the Rev. Frank Almade, pastor.
Entombment will take place at Parkside Cemetery and Mausoleum.
