Frank G. Domin, 93, of New Castle passed away the evening of Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Memorial Hospital.
Frank was born Sept. 9, 1924, in New Castle. He was a son of the late Joseph and Katherine Cwynar Domin.
Frank was married to Thelma M. Crable. She preceded him in death on March 22, 2017. They were married for 67 years.
Frank was Roman Catholic and was a member of Mary Mother of Hope Parish. Mr. Domin was a graduate of Mount Jackson High School, class of 1942.
Following graduation, Frank enlisted in the Army and served his country during World War II.
Mr. Domin retired as a foreman at the former Sharon Steel Company.
He enjoyed watching all types of professional and college sports, especially baseball. Frank loved working in his garden. His greatest joy was cooking for his family.
Mr. Domin is survived by three children, Cathy J. Hoover, Chuck (Suzanne) Domin and Becky Domin, all of New Castle; three grandchildren, Terri Hoover, Robert (Peggy) Hoover and Jennifer (Robert) Miller; and five great-grandchildren, Devin Miller, Tiffany Miller, Samantha Miller, Andrew Hoover and Elizabeth Hoover.
In addition to his wife, Thelma, and his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Casimir, Walter and John Domin; and three sisters, Helen Lowry, Adeline O'Donnell and Wanda Mosley.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St.
The family would like everyone to meet at Mary, Mother of Hope Parish Saturday morning, where a Mass of Christian burial and Rite of Committal will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Michael Peck, pastor of St. Camillus deLillis Parish will officiate.
Burial will be in Madonna Cemetery.
