Gary W. Gentsy, 73, of Leasure Avenue passed away the afternoon of Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2017, with his family by his side.
Gary was born Sept. 27, 1944, in New Castle. He was a son of the late Frank and Ann Fenchak Gentsy.
He was married to the former Audreen Dinafore. She survives at home. They were married for 44 wonderful years.
Mr. Gentsy was of the Roman Catholic faith.
Gary was a graduate of Shenango High School, class of 1962.
Mr. Gentsy retired after 30 years of service as a machinist at the former Commercial Intertech.
Gary was an avid outdoorsman and gardener. He also enjoyed reading. His greatest joy was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, Audreen, he is survived by two daughters, Alicia G. (Christian) Blazevich of Mars, Pennsylvania, and Lisa M. (Eric) Klamut of New Castle; and three granddaughters, Josephine Blazevich, Helena Blazevich and Gracelyn Klamut.
Mr. Gentsy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Richard Gentsy; and sister, Cheryl Gentsy Penkrot.
Following Gary's wishes there will be no calling hours.
A private blessing service was held at the Noga Funeral Home Inc. The Rev. William P. Siple, parochial vicar of Mary, Mother of Hope Parish, officiated.
Burial will be in SS. Philip and James Cemetery.
The family is asking that memorial contribution be made in his name to Three Rivers Hospice, 26 Nesbitt Road, New Castle, PA 16105.
