Genevieve A. Morosky, 98, formerly of 761 Addis St., passed away the morning of Nov. 4, 2017, at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Genevieve was born Oct. 3, 1919, in Farrell, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Peter and Anna Butrym Tankiewicz.
She married the late Marion H. Morosky. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1987. They were married for 49 years.
Mrs. Morosky was of the Polish National Catholic faith and a member of Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church. She was a graduate of Weir High School, Weirton, W.Va., class of 1937.
Mrs. Morosky will be remembered by her family as a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Genevieve also worked outside the home as a gold liner at the former Shenango Pottery Co. She enjoyed traveling, reading, doing crossword puzzles, and cooking and baking for others. Her greatest joy was spending time with her friends and family, especially with her grandchildren.
Genevieve is survived by her son, A. Duke (Beverly) Morosky of New Castle; three grandchildren, Renee (Zain) Mohey-Deen of Chicago, Ill., Wesley S. (Melissa) Morosky of New Castle, Alexander Duke Morosky of New Castle; and three great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Tyler, and Sabrina.
In addition to her parents and husband Marion, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Tanner.
Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 6, 2017, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St.
A procession will leave the funeral home Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. for Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, where a funeral service will be celebrated at 11 a.m. The Very Rev. John A. Rencewicv II, pastor of the Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Church, will officiate.
Burial will be in Holy Trinity Polish National Catholic Cemetery.
