George V. Butcherine

George V. Butcherine George Vincent Butcherine Jr., 71, of Slippery Rock (Slippery Rock Township, Butler County) passed away peacefully at his home the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2019.
He was born in Carbon, Pennsylvania (Lawrence County) on June 11, 1947, to George Vincent Butcherine Sr. and Vada May Smith Butcherine.
George married Karen Lee Hoffman on May 27, 1967.   
George was self-employed in the refrigeration industry and was an HVAC specialist, having owned and operated Butcherine Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heating.
He was an active member of Hope Fellowship Assembly of God in Slippery Rock.
George was a 1965 graduate of Slippery Rock High School and attended refrigeration school.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending time with family, including biking with his family on Sundays and being at the family camp in West Virginia.
George shared his love of Jesus and his God-given talents, love and passion for life with every person who he met or crossed paths with. Ripples of blessings, just like a pebble thrown in a still lake causes ripples, everything George laid his hands to were blessed over again. His talents and compassion affected everyone at some level.
Besides his wife, George is survived by two daughters, Kim L. Butcherine Deniker and husband, Clint, of Grove City and Debi L. Butcherine of Mercer; two sisters, Joyce A. Butcherine Aiello and husband, Roger, of New Wilmington and Linda D. Butcherine Waite and husband, Allen, of Jamestown, Pennsylvania; and three grandchildren, Brandon Hennegan, Joseph Cook and Jordan Butcherine.
George was preceded in death by his parents.   
Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 18, 2019, at the Smith Funeral Home, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock, Pa. 16057. This time will be devoted to for all to share pictures and stories. Please feel free to bring both. 
A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019, at Hope Fellowship Assembly of God, 411 N. Main St., Slippery Rock, with Pastor David Richendrfer presiding. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service.

You were a great big brother and I have many fond memories but the greatest thing you taught me was about forgiveness. You never held on to a grudge very long. You said "you just have to forgive and move on". I am thankful for your faith. Nothing could have placed the peaceful look on your face at your passing except the "Peace of God which transcends all understanding"-Philippians 4:7 I will miss you-With Love

We played volley ball with George. We enjoyed his company. Very sad to hear of his passing. Prayers to his family.
