Gladys M. Klenotic

Gladys M. Klenotic, 98, formerly of West Pittsburg, passed away on Friday, Aug. 16, 2019, in the Quality of Life Services, New Castle.
She was born on Nov. 24, 1920, in New Castle to the late John Anderson and Ethel Jones Thorpe.
Gladys was married to the late Joseph Klenotic for 30 years, until his death in 1975.
Her mother died when she was only six years old and she and her sister went to live at The Margaret Henry Home until their father, who worked on the RR, and was absent a lot, could find a nice home for them to live in. Through this process they inherited another sister, Evelyn Steele.
She worked for the A&P grocery store in her early years, and later retired after 27 years from Jameson Hospital as a ward secretary. After her husband Joe passed away, she declared she wanted to dance! She met Carl Dengler and they remained companions for over 32 years. Gladys taught him how to dance, and they went dancing every Saturday night for many years. Gladys loved to bowl and she and Carl bowled in the Super Senior League and other senior leagues. She also enjoyed reading, playing dominoes, crossword puzzles, and loved to sew.
Surviving her is a daughter, Dana (John) Capels of Fishers, Indiana; and a son, Dane Klenotic of New Castle; two grandsons, Roy W. Caruthers of Indiana and Joel Klenotic of New Castle; and two nieces and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, companion, and her sister, Coletta Owens.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2019 in the NOGA FUNERAL HOME INC., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle, PA 16101, until the 11 a.m. service with the Rev. Lorrie Ghering-Burick officiating.
Interment will follow in the Castleview Memorial Cemetery, New Castle.
