Gladys A. Wingert, 63, of New Castle, passed away the afternoon of Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at her residence.
Born Aug. 2, 1954, in New Castle, she was a daughter of the late Oliver C. Sr. and Freda Otto Livermore.
On March 20, 1973, she married her beloved husband, Noel Wingert, and the two of them spent 25 years together until he preceded her in death in 1998.
Gladys was a newspaper carrier for New Castle News and had worked for several local restaurants.
She was a longtime devoted member of Church of Genesis.
Gladys was a fan of "General Hospital," "Young and the Restless," "Let's Make a Deal" and "The Price is Right."
She enjoyed reading, completing puzzle books, playing games and Facebooking.
Gladys is survived by her children, Noel Andrew Wingert of Youngstown, Ohio, Michael C. Wingert of Pittsburgh, Jeffrey D. Wingert of New Castle and Shawn M. Wingert Sr. of Youngstown; brother, Oliver C. Livermore Jr. of Cincinnati, Ohio; half-brothers, Wayne Schneider of North Carolina and Bobby Russo of South Carolina; half-sisters, Joanne Jackson of South Carolina and Dr. Dianne Hemmelgarn of Florida; grandchildren, Sarah Wingert, Tiffany Wingert, Cassandra Wingert, Alexis Wingert, Matthew Mohrman, Shawn M. Wingert Jr., Ryley Wingert and Keegan Wingert; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her half-brother, Nicholas Russo.
Visitation will be held 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Ronald Eade of Church of Genesis.
Burial will take place in Castle View Memorial Gardens.
