Gloria A (Burick) Houk, 81, of Howard Street, Chewton, passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Hospice in Beaver, following a short illness.
A lifelong resident of Chewton, she was born April 8, 1936, a daughter of the late Frank and Jesse Rocco Burick.
She was married for 60 years to James E. Houk Jr. as they were married Oct. 13, 1956. He survives.
Gloria graduated from Lincoln High School.
She was a member of the former St. Monica Church in Wampum and was a current member of Holy Redeemer Church in Ellwood City.
She enjoyed traveling across the country with her husband on their motorcycle. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking and riding horses.
Her most cherished time was spent with her family.
In addition to her husband, Jim, survivors include two sons, James B. (Stacy) Houk and Mark C. (Barbara) Houk, both of Ellwood City; daughter, Erin E. (Tom) Kelly of Chewton; brother, Wayne (Sue) Burick of Chewton; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three stepgreat grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John R. Burick.
Visiting hours will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Marshall Funeral Home, 341 Main St., Wampum. Friends will also be received from 10 a.m. until the time of the Blessing Service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery.
