Harry's Story

Harry A. Carder Jr., 89, of Pulaski, passed away on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, at UPMC Jameson Hospital.
Born on July 1, 1927, in Romney, West Virginia, he was a son of Harry A. Carder Sr. and Helen McMullen Carder.
He married Marilyn Smith Carder, who preceded him in death in 2000.
Harry served in the Navy with the Seabees during World War II.
In his earlier years, he worked with U.S. Steel, Ohio Works, in Youngstown as a stationary engineer for 35 years. He was then employed with St. Joseph Hospital and Trumbull Memorial Hospital, until his retirement.
He is survived by three sons, Bruce Carder of Pulaski, Brian (Linda) Carder of Stow, Ohio, and Fred Carder of Struthers, Ohio; a brother, Dane (Edna) Carder of Ft. Myers, Florida; a sister, Margaret McBride of Austintown, Ohio; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Carder.
In keeping with Mr. Carder's wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
