Harvey W. Daugherty, 78, of Union Township passed away the morning of Saturday, June 17, 2017, at the Lawrence County GeriCare facility.
Born in New Castle on May 14, 1939, Harvey was a son of the late Jake and Betty Regna.
Preceding him in death on June 30, 2004, was his wife, the former Carol Phillips, whom he married on June 26, 1965.
Harvey was a veteran of the Army, serving his country in Germany during the Vietnam Era.
He was a member of the Hoover Heights Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
Harvey retired after working 30 years for the Babcock and Wilcox Co. in the steel mill.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 343.
Harvey was an avid Pittsburgh sports fan and enjoyed following the Pittsburgh Pirates, Steelers and Penguins.
He loved the times he spent with his friends and cherished being surrounded by his family.
Harvey is survived by his daughter, Doris Baughman-Schrimp and her husband, Howard W. Schrimp, of New Castle; his brother, Charles "Chuck" Daugherty of New Castle; three grandchildren, Harold M. Baughman Jr., Lucas M. Baughman and Joseph W. Baughman; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, Harvey was preceded in death by his brother, John "Jack" Daugherty.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Larry Llewellyn of Hoover Heights Christian Missionary Alliance Church.
Interment will take place at Graceland Cemetery.
