Helen's Story

Helen Mallie Zentz, 91, of 1415 Savannah Road passed away the morning of Feb. 4, 2018, at her residence with her family by her side.
Helen was born on Dec. 18, 1926 in Woodville, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Luca and Mary Stolitca Zentz.
Helen was married to Paul Richard Zentz Sr. He preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 2008.
Mrs. Zentz was a member of St. Elias Orthodox Church. Helen was a graduate of Shenango High School, class of 1944.
Mrs. Zentz will be remembered by her family as a loving mother and grandmother. Helen also worked outside her home at the former Shenango Pottery as a Polisher. She also worked as a truck driver for the former Nickles Bakery.
Helen enjoyed singing in the Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church choir. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by her two sons, Taras P. Zentz and his companion (Judy Hickman) of Greenburg, Pa., and Paul R. (Kimberly) Zentz Jr. of Tidioute, Pa.; daughter, Kathleen A. (Gary) Bender of New Castle; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband Paul, she was preceded in death by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles (Judy) Stolitca and Michael (Catherine) Stolitca; and three sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Stolitca, Anne (John) Midzie and Catherine (John) Wagner.
Calling hours will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2018, at St. Elias Orthodox Church, 915 Lynn St., New Castle, Pa. 16101. A Trisagion service will be held at 6:45 p.m. in church by Very Rev. Kevin G. Long.
A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2018, at St. Elias Orthodox Church. The Very Rev. Kevin G. Long will officiate. Burial will in St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Noga Funeral Home, Inc. 1142 S. Mill St.
