Henry "Hank" Edward Moesta, 82, of Miller Avenue, New Castle, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2018, surrounded by the love of his family.
Henry was born in Kittanning, Pennsylvania, on April 9, 1935, to the late Frank Nason Moesta and Margaret Stewart Moesta.
He married Gretchen Schneider on Sept. 24, 1955.
He attended MIT and Carnegie Tech.
He was an inventor and self-employed contractor. He held patents on several of his inventions.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church. For many years, he and his wife taught Sunday school. He was a Eucharistic minister, served on Vestry and was a Junior Warden.
Henry is survived by his loving wife, Gretchen; six children, Carol (Dennis) Hamilton, John (Barbara) Moesta, Marnie (John) Boboige, Janet (Daniel) Smith, Scott (Thuy) Moesta and Daniel (Audra) Moesta; two sisters, Marne Fiscus Kantner and Helen Lynne Windley; 24 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Schneider Black; two infant sisters; and a grandson, Daniel Jacob Smith.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at Trinity Episcopal Church, New Castle, with the Rev. Erin Shank, pastor of the church, officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church or Family Hospice and Palliative Care.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Smith Funeral Home, New Wilmington.
