Howard Ellis Edwards, 84, of Harlansburg Road died peacefully at his home on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2017, after an extended illness.
"Buster" was not from Hickory Township, but Reedsville, West Virginia where he was born to Minnie Sarah Douglas-Edwards and Howard G. Edwards.
In 1954, he married Lois Jean Forkey. She cared for him diligently in health and sickness and survives him. Together, they have two sons, H. Dale Edwards (Elaine) and Ricky A. Edwards (Kitty). Grandchildren are Jacob Edwards and Jacqueline Edwards-Kuth. Great-grandchildren are Conner Kuth, Eva Kuth, Kassidy Kuth and Clyde Edwards. His brother, Melvin Edwards of Volant, survives him.
Buster was proceeded in death by his parents; his sisters, Alice Wilson, Betty Tomy and Doris McClure; and his brothers, Donald Douglas, Charles Douglas and David Edwards.
A talented brick mason, he worked for many years creating works of art in stone. Other works of art were the classic Ford trucks that he restored. NASCAR was his television. He also enjoyed hunting with his family.
Per his wishes, there are no calling hours and no funeral planned. He wanted all of us to remember him the way we will remember him. He made us laugh, think and be inspired.
