Ina's Story

Ina Louise Ellenberger, 75, of Edinburg passed away the evening of Feb. 11, 2017, at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Ina was born June 30, 1941, in Hawthorne, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Charles K. and Anna M. (Copus) Smeltzer. Ina married George W. Ellenberger; they have been married for 53 wonderful years. He survives at home. Mrs. Ellenberger was of the Protestant faith. Ina was a graduate of Red Bank Valley High School, class of 1959.
Mrs. Ellenberger retired after 43 years of service with E.D. Fee Transfer Co. , New Castle, as a bookkeeper. She will be remembered by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. Her greatest joy was spending time with her twin grandsons. Ina also enjoyed doing needlework, gardening, shopping, crafting, playing the piano and origami.
In addition to her husband George, she is survived by two children, Charles W. Ellenberger and Ann M. Wrona, both of Pulaski; sister, Ruth A. (Sam) Vanassa of Enumclaw, Wash.; and two grandsons, Christopher G. Wrona and Brandon B. Wrona, both of Pulaski.
Ina was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Brian M. Wrona.
Calling hours are 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2017, at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle, Pa. 16101.
A funeral service will be conduct at 7 p.m. in the funeral home. The Rev. John Harris, pastor of St. Francis Anglican Mission, Youngstown, Ohio, will officiate. Burial will be in Harbor Bridge Cemetery. Online condolences may be viewed or given by visiting nogafuneralhome.com.
