Jack "Putsy" Lupo, 84, of Bessemer, Pa., passed away on Wednesday morning, Aug. 9, 2017, at his residence.
Jack was born in Carbon, Pa., on July 5, 1933. He was the son of the Late Jack and Jennie Onesti Lupo.
A high school graduate, Jack went on to work as a diesel mechanic for Carbon Limestone until the company closed. He was then employed and retired from Essroc Cement Co. as a truck mechanic.
He married the former Jo Ann Plevnic on Oct. 11, 1958, and together raised their son Jack.
Jack was a member of the Christ the King Parrish and attended the St. Anthony Church in Bessemer. He and Jo Ann where past members of The Polka Boosters and S.N.P.J. and loved dancing till they could no more. They were fortunate enough to find time to take many bus trips and go sight-seeing. Jack also had an affinity for working on cars and enjoyed the hot-rod scene.
Jack is survived by his wife, Jo Ann, and son, Jack R. (Krista) Lupo, all of Bessemer; sisters-in-law, Flo Lupo of Poland, Ohio, and Ellen Sanders of Bessemer; nephews, James and Michael Sanders of Bessemer; niece, Janie Metz (Robert) of Poland; great-nephews, Chris and Matt West of Phoenix, Ariz.; and great-nieces, Alyssa, Nicole and Maria Lupo.
Jack was preceded in death by parents; brother, Joseph; and nephew, Joseph Jr.
Visitation and service are scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at St. Anthony Church in Bessemer. Visitation is 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Mass is scheduled for 2 p.m. with Rev. James Downs officiating. Burial will be in the St. Anthony Cemetery.
