James W. Paden Sr., 74, of North Beaver Township, New Castle, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2017, at Allegheny Hospital in Pittsburgh.
James was born in New Castle on June 18, 1943, son of the late J. Wilbur and Naomi Buchanan Paden.
Jim was a member of the first graduating class of the unified Mohawk School System, 1961.
He was a lifelong truck driver having retired from Gwin Bros. Trucking Company.
He married Phyllis Stewart on Dec. 2, 1964, and she survives.
Jim was an avid outdoorsman. He was a member of the Pennsylvania Trappers Association and the NRA.
Jim also enjoyed classic and muscle cars, he rarely missed an opportunity to go to a car show.
He was a kind soul who had a great sense of humor and an addicting smile, his family was everything to him.
Jim leaves behind his wife, Phyllis; children, James W. Paden Jr. of New Castle, Clinton (Kim) Paden of Union, Carrie (Mark) Columbus of North Beaver Township and Rebecca Hoffman of Franklin; brother, Dale (Gayla) Paden of Aurora, Ohio; and grandchildren, Sara (Larry) Houk, Andrew (Lenora) Siddall, Mathew (Morgan) Siddall, Jennie Hoffman and Scott W. Paden Jr.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and son, Scott W. Paden Sr.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Terry A. Cunningham Funeral Home at 203 Oak St. in Bessemer.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev. Kevin McConnell officiating.
