James Patrick  Schooley Jr.


James Patrick Schooley Jr., 56, of Potter Run Road, Volant, passed away at Avalon Springs Nursing Home, Mercer, on Monday afternoon, Aug. 5, 2019.
Jim was born in New Castle on June 15, 1963, to James Patrick Schooley Sr. and Susan J. Freeman Schooley.
He married Margaret Annn Kimmell on July 18, 2002. She survives at the residence.
Jim was employed by Bluebird Bus Sales of Pittsburgh. He formerly was co-owner of Shaw School Bus Lines.
Jim was a graduate of Wilmington Area High School and loved fishing. He served as president of the Volcon Motorcycle Club and was an active member of the Springfield Township Sportsman Club.
Jim was very active with the Volant Volunteer Fire Department, where he organized the Poker Run.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his father, Jim and stepmother, Patti, of New Castle; two sons, Wesley and Nathaniel Schooley of Greenville; a sister, Patti Schooley of Boardman, Ohio; and five grandchildren, Dakota, Sarah, McKenna, Gunner and Cypress.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Sue Schooley, and a son, Jimmy Schooley.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, 2019, at the Smith Funeral Home, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant.
A blessing service will take place at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, 2019, at the funeral home with the Rev. Victor Molka of Holy Spirit Parish officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Volant Volunteer Fire Department.
