Janet's Story

Janet L. Nolder, 79, of New Castle passed away the morning of June 29, 2017, at Avalon Nursing Home.
Born on Jan. 24, 1938, in Mount Jackson, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edward and Dorothy Shear Seltzer. Surviving is her beloved husband of 60 years, James Nolder, whom she married on Aug. 4, 1956.
Janet was a member of Lighthouse Pentecostal Church. She always loved cooking for the camp kids at Pentecostal Holiness Campground. Janet also enjoyed crocheting, completing puzzles and reading. She will be remembered as loving and devoted wife, mother, sister, and grandmother as well as an outstanding seamstress.
In addition to her husband, Janet is survived by her children, Shirley Ann Skoveron and husband Barry of Pataskala, Ohio, Dorothy Feezle and husband Richard, and Jamie Rose, all of New Castle; brother, Robert Seltzer of New Castle; sister, Barbara Buckner of New Castle; eight grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. at Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory, 941 S. Mill St., co-officiated by Rev. David Puffer and her daughter, Shirley Skoveron.
Entombment will take place in Castleview Memorial Gardens.
