Jean M. Sherbak, 87, of New Castle passed away the morning of Jan. 19, 2018, at Golden Hill Nursing Home.
Jean was born July 22, 1930, in New Castle. She was the daughter of the late Steve and Stella Briggs Polansky.
Mrs. Sherbak was of the Protestant faith. She will be remembered by her family as a loving sister, mother, aunt and grandmother.
Mrs. Sherbak is survived by her two sons, Louis F. (Antoinette) Spelich Jr. of New Castle and John Sherbak of Brandon, Fla.; sister, Eleanor Kerr of New Castle; grandson, Michael Spelich of New Castle; niece, Laura Kerr of New Castle; four nieces; and two nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband Louis F. Spelich Sr., she was preceded in death by three brothers, Paul Polansky, Joe Polansky and George Polansky; niece, Marlene Kerr: and nephew, Joe Polansky Jr.
In honoring her wishes, there was no calling hours.
A private service for her family was held today at the Noga Funeral Home Inc., 1142 S. Mill St., New Castle. Rev. Rich Kinney, pastor of Highland United Presbyterian, officiated.
Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery.
