Jesse J. Exposito

May 25, 1927 - April 14, 2018

Jesse J. Exposito, 90, a lifelong resident of Edinburg, passed away peacefully the afternoon of Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Sharon Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Exposito was born May 25, 1927, in Edinburg, a son of Charles and Jessie (Myers) Exposito.
A proud veteran, Jesse served in the Army during World War II and later served in the Air Force during the Korean War.
He retired in 1986 from Sharon Steel Corp.'s former Farrell plant, where he worked as a crane operator for 39 years.
He was a member of the VFW Post 638 in Bessemer and the United Steel Workers of America Local 1197.
His pride and joy was his home in Edinburg, which he had built from the ground up. Jesse was a "jack-of-all-trades" with a talent for repairing or building just about anything. He never hesitated at an opportunity to lend a hand to a neighbor, friend or his family.
His wife, the former Norene E. Coates, whom he married June 2, 1949, preceded him in death Jan. 7, 2016.
Surviving are three daughters, Thelma (Jody) Patrick of Columbus, Ohio, Marilyn Lamm of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Peggy Szewczyk, of Cary, North Carolina; two sisters, Mary (James) Logan of New Castle and Anna M. (Don) Rand of Belleaire, Florida; seven grandchildren, Mark, Daniel and Hilary Patrick, Fred and Lisa Lamm, and Jessica Richardson and Kristen Szewczyk; eight great-grandchildren, Andrew and Kaitlyn Patrick, Evan, Reid and Alex Patrick, and Jordan, Ian and Kennedy Lamm; and two nephews, Rodys (Helen) Exposito of New Castle and Jeffery Hardesty of Edinburg.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Life Lawrence County Lutheran SeniorLife, 2911 W. State St., New Castle, PA 16101.
Calling hours will be 4 to 6 p.m. Monday at the J. Bradley McGonigle Funeral Home and Crematory Inc., 111 W. Falls St., New Castle.
Funeral service will be 6 p.m. today at the funeral home with the Rev. B.J. Rudge officiating. The New Castle Area Honor Guard will conduct full military honors prior to the service.
