Jody C. Scheid Kind went to be with the Lord on Dec. 4, 2017, following her 18-year battle with cancer. Jody was born on Dec. 28, 1966, to Dr. Walter Evans Scheid and Karen Joyce Vorlage Scheid in New Wilmington, Pa.
Jody graduated from New Wilmington High School in 1985. Following high school, she attended Westminster College and Slippery Rock University, where she received her B.S. in Business Administration in 1988. Jody furthered her education by becoming a Microsoft Professional and Computer TIA Security Plus Technician.
Jody utilized her education at Portersville Christian School as a Computer Science Educator and IT Director.
On Dec. 20, 1986, Jody married Dean H. Kind. They had two sons, Layne Evan of Slippery Rock and Logan Dean of Volant.
Jody was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother (Gigi) and loved spending time with her three grandsons, Braidin, Chase and Hayden Kind.
Jody enjoyed music, dancing, exercising, cycling and photography, and always thought of traveling as life's university. From the time she was diagnosed with cancer, Jody believed that despite the outcome she would ultimately be victorious in her cancer battle, as even an earthly loss would place her spending eternity with Jesus Christ her Savior.
Jody would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Simon's office and Hospice for all they have done.
As per Jody's wishes, there will be no visitation or services. A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
